General Questions

The UCCS Aging Center is a community-based, nonprofit mental health clinic operated by the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). We specialize in psychological and cognitive health services for adults age 55 and older and their families while also serving as a training site for future geropsychologists.

A memory evaluation helps identify changes in memory, thinking, attention, and other cognitive abilities. These assessments can assist individuals and healthcare providers in understanding concerns related to aging, dementia, brain injury, or other conditions.
Yes. We offer support, education, therapy, and consultation services for family members and caregivers who are helping older adults navigate cognitive, emotional, or health-related challenges.
Many services do not require a referral. Contact our office to discuss your needs, and we can guide you through the appropriate next steps.

Appointments and Payment

Call (719) 255-8002 to speak with our staff about available services, intake procedures, and appointment scheduling. 

Yes. Medicare is accepted for services provided by licensed psychologists.
Many services are available on a low-fee sliding scale, and some training clinic services may be offered at reduced cost or no cost depending on eligibility and service type.

Training and Research

The Aging Center serves as a primary training site for UCCS's APA-accredited Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program. Advanced graduate trainees provide services under close supervision by licensed psychologists and faculty experts.
Absolutely. Graduate trainees receive specialized training in aging and mental health and are supervised by experienced licensed psychologists to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care.
Yes. As part of UCCS, the Aging Center supports research related to aging, cognitive health, mental health, caregiving, and evidence-based interventions.

Resources and Community Support

Yes. We help older adults, caregivers, and families connect with trusted local resources, support programs, and community services that promote health, independence, and well-being.

Yes. Our team offers assessments, caregiver support, education, and referrals related to Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.

Telehealth options may be available for certain services. Contact our office to discuss eligibility and availability.

Emergency Assistance

No. The Aging Center does not provide emergency or 24-hour crisis services. If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health emergency, call 911, 988, or go to the nearest emergency room immediately.
